Artist book, based on a series of performative experiments with a mechanism built with an altered/automated typewriter key (çé)

" çé contains drawings and codes which have been created and used during series of performative experiments. During these experiments, an object/mechanism was crawling on a horizontal surface against a wall while lit from bellow by a light emitting diode. I was drawing lines with colour pencils, following the outlines of the mechanism shadows, cast on a paper hung on the wall. The speed and the rhythm of his movements were controlled by a programmed sequence and the code was rewritten between each drawing sessions. The experiments turn out to be a drawing process learning, for me as well as for the mechanism: my hand had to be trained to endure the repetitive movement needed to draw, and the mechanism improve its movements from session to session.
